dirty politricks

EXTRA, EXTRA, read all about it! Politicians with financial means like to pay hookers in exchange for sexual favors!!!
I know, I know, the Albany scandals are no longer news today, and they shouldn’t have been news when they first broke out either. Come on, people, are we really that shocked? How many times must we see the same inevitable twist to understand that sex & power is a mighty natural combination? It’s all in the game, nothing we haven’t seen before with various presidents, senators, governors or even on reality TV. And speaking of reality TV, didn’t Eliot Spitzer behave just like a busted lover on “Cheaters”? Until the cameras were deep in his business and right up in his face and his suspicious expenses exposed for all the media to see, he self-righteously crusaded against illegal prostitution and other "moral abominations" while carrying on his mercenary affairs behind everyone’s back. Then, as if Albany and the public hadn’t seen enough gubernatorial dirty laundry for one month, along comes David Paterson and his unsolicited, pre-emptive confessions. I had extramarital affairs, he quickly volunteered, and so did my wife. Oh, and did I mention my past drug abuse? Shit, man, who gave you the pentathol? The guy’s like a contestant on “The Moment of Truth”, for chrissake! But in the end all this trash and gossip don’t really count for squat because to put it in governor Paterson’s words: “I betrayed a commitment to my wife several years ago, and I do not feel I’ve betrayed my commitment to the citizens of New York State. I haven’t broken any laws. I don’t think I’ve violated my oath of office. I saw this as a private matter.” That’s right, governor, and a private matter should have remained. So stop blabbing your mouth about your affairs already, and most of all stop outing fellow closet clandestines, like poor state employee, Lila Kirton, whose only sin was to have sex with you. We don’t care how many lines of coke you vacuumed or how many people you banged, Mr. Governor, but ratting out a secret lover, that is just plain wrong and a violation of the implicit oath existing between adulterers. Bad governor, bad!
