What a Kopp Out

This story is still in the news and this time it gets juicier and, sadder, well, for the poor ex-girlfriend of Kopp who is now getting a little revenge along with 15 minutes to vent and find closure from this whole tidy little menage a trois situation Tilda's got going on. Clearly, more to this than meets the masked eye.

Sandro Kopp is quite the ladies man. He's a charmer who uses the guise of art to capture female hearts, amongst other female parts, and then quickly moves on to the next and the next and the next, until that is, he landed his prize social celebrity meal ticket, Tilda Swinton. Poor Emma seemed to believe that she was gonna, ugh, wait for it, "change him" from his non-monogamous ways. Yup. Poor girl.

Emma and Sandro met at a carnival in Wellington, New Zealand and she swooned over his purple fluffy jacket (yeah, I know), eyeliner and cheesy pick up line, 'Come and see my painting exhibition.' And come she did in more ways than one.

Sandro claimed to have never been in a monogamous relationship, Emma had also previously dabbled in the open relationship situ, but decided it wasn't for her. And during their first eight months together she said she was aware of "casual lovers", yet girlfriend imagined that her heart and her, oh never mind, would change all that and secure her this man foreva, tut tut.

Kopp, however, had bigger fish to fry and all that. He was busying himself with keeping his angle acutely sharpened for his prize goal: a celebrity. His three seconds of fame on The Lord Of The Rings as an elf was used to the max. He got himself a fan web site made (the nerve!), and got himself to travel around going to LOTR conventions. Fancying himself now even more (possible?), his ego grew and grew, and he, "started to get a glimpse of a life he would like to have". Alarm bells still didn't ring for poor Emma. Poor, poor girl.

Fast forward to The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe. Kopp landed a role on the film in New Zealand while his poor Emma decided to take a break in Egypt with her sister. She became aware that he was "starstruck" by the prospect of meeting Tilda, yet on she trudged, and they continued emailing each other all the while, until she didn't hear from him for a week and a half. She explains:

"He had mentioned Tilda in an email, saying they were hanging out and I had this feeling something was going on.

"He said they had a connection. But I also thought, she's married with children so it should be OK."

In a nutshell, she thought it was perfectly OK, it seems, that "Sandro was always interested in movie stars and he had been researching her before he got the job on the film."

She STILL didn't dump his ass. No, she waited for the "call". And that she got after the absence of emails whilst visiting the Nile. Emma now looks back and feels that he now was not "a very suitable partner".
